Portraits of Dr Timothy Tree, Senior Lecturer at Kings College School Of Medicine. Photographed in the diabetes research labs, Tim has also had Type 1 diabetes for 32 years and is a pump user.

Lauren, aged 16, lives in East Sussex and has just taken her GCSEs. She has trained all three of her dogs in dog agility classes. She has had Type 1 diabetes for five years.  

Michael has Type 2 diabetes. He is 34 and from Stratford, London. He keeps lots of snakes, including this seven foot boa constrictor shown with him in the pictures.

Michael, aged 13, has Type 1 diabetes and is from London. He is a keen artist and is pictured here at his school art gallery with a sculpture he made. His mum is Gina.

14-year-old Olly has had Type 1 for two years. Olly runs his own flock of sheep In North Wales and helps with his elderly neighbours flock too.

Ben is 10 years old and has been diagnosed Type 1 for eight years. He has had his insulin pump for five years now and loves it.

Andrew Cross is 36 years old and has Type 1 diabetes. He's based in Milton Keynes and is a super fit cyclist.

Amelie and Albie are five year old twins who both have Type 1. They were photographed at home in South Manchester where their mum Jude looks after them.

Alexa is 30 years old and from Manchester.
