Caroline, 46, from Battle, East Sussex, has Type 2 diabetes. She is a big fan and owner of 1950s cars and all things vintage. She also has a tattoo that says 'diabetic'.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes when I was 34. No one else in my family or any friends had it and I had no idea what it was. I am now confident with my diabetes and I am now a trained risk assessor for Diabetes UK and also a member of Diabetes Voice. My next mission is to be a speaker volunteer.
I love the 1950s and my favourite music is Buddy Holly. I have two 1950s American Chevy cars and a 1955 Chevy truck and I would love an old tractor to play on in my garden. I also have a bit of a love affair with tattoos and currently have 19. I even have ‘diabetic’ tattooed on my arm.
My teenage daughter Victoria keeps me on my toes and up to date with the latest trends. The only trouble is that Victoria is now the same shoe size and keeps on borrowing my shoes!
