I was shocked to be told I had Type 2 diabetes.

I was 59 when I was told I had Type 2 diabetes. It came at a difficult time – just months after I’d had a heart attack in 2011.

I was first diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2015 but this is not where my diabetes story begins.
