Location: London - Clapham Common
Distance: 54 miles
The London to Brighton Bike Ride starts in Clapham Common, South London, and ends on Brighton Beachfront, where you'll receive a hero's welcome. The 54-mile route is mostly on closed, traffic-free, tarmac roads. Why not join 14,000 riders pedalling their way through the idyllic English countryside and test yourself on Ditchling Beacon before gliding down to the seafront finish line?
Charity Place
Pay a £35 registration fee to secure your charity place and then pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £350 by one month after the event. A charity place with Diabetes UK gives you dedicated fundraising and training support from our team and a free cycling jersey.
Already have your own place?
If you have bought your own place in the event, directly from the London to Brighton Bike Ride organisers, you can still join the Diabetes UK Team. You’ll get all the benefits like a free cycling jersey, training and fundraising advice. There’s no minimum sponsorship requirement, we just ask you to raise as much as you can for Diabetes UK.
Why cycle for Diabetes UK?
“I was quite active before I took up cycling, but it really helped me to get fitness back and some strength back in my muscles. Fundraising for Diabetes UK on the back of the ride felt like absolutely the right thing to do. I did it in memory of and to celebrate the life of Eddie and to aid diabetes research. I love a challenge. I’d like to think he'd have been proud to find me raising money for Diabetes UK.”
Ruth cycles and supports Diabetes UK in memory of her brother Eddie, you can read more about her story here.
