Why run for Diabetes UK?

Image of Alan sat in the sunshine.

"I used to run a lot completing marathons and half marathons. However with work and family life I have become old and lazy and anything for an easy life. Now I see my baby girl facing a massive challenge and to show her anything can be possible I said to her I will enter a half marathon, get fit and show you that if you put your heart into something you can do anything. With the money I raise, I’d like to see the development of new methods and medicines that take away the need for daily numerous injections. And also a growing support network for families."

Alan dug out his running shoes to take part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, all to support his daughter Carly, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in August 2018.  You can read more about their story here.
