Rachael and Claudia took up spinning and challenged themselves to cycle 250 miles for Diabetes UK.
Rachael and Claudia spinning for Diabetes UK.I have been diabetic since I was 15 and a half and always struggled with hypos.
They have consistently got worse over the years and in the end I lost the feelings of having them. Due to one thing and another I joined the gym, lost a considerable amount of weight and then along with my friend Claudia we got a personal trainer to help us shift a bit more weight.
We enjoyed the challenge and felt fitter than we ever had. So I had the bright idea of spinning 250 miles for Diabetes UK. Our personal trainer Bradley helped us strengthen our legs to be able to do it.
We started on Sunday 17 August 2014 and attended five hours of spin classes. We stayed afterwards when we had nothing left to spin, but would keep spinning to raise more money. The challenge continued for severaldays and we were confident we would exceed our stated 250 miles.
Everyone at Xercise4less in Doncaster have been so supportive of our challenge, it's been such a pleasure. Even though we are in a lot of pain with the bike seats, we will keep on going with a smile on our faces.
