From coffee mornings to bucket collections, Diane is doubling her fundraising total.
Diane has raised over £1,431 for Diabetes UK.Since I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes back in 1984 at the age of 12, I have seen significant changes to the monitoring and management of diabetes.
Being diagnosed at such an early age, the support from my diabetes team at Bassetlaw Hospital, family, friends and Diabetes UK has been vital to the stable state I am at now.
Moving from syringe to pen and three years ago, from pen to the insulin pump, I have seen and overcome many diabetes challenges over the past 21 years with my latest HB1C being 6.4.
Since I started fundraising I have done many different events around the community as well as working with the local school to fundraise and raise awareness of diabetes.
Some of my events include coffee mornings within school and the community, bucket collections at the local garden centre, with more plans for later this year.Over the last two years I have raised a total of £1,431.07 with plans to double this in the next 12 months.
With more bucket collections arranged, an afternoon tea event which will run from the community room within the local primary school, as well as a virtual horse racing night planned for October, there’s no stopping Diane!
