Hybrid Closed Loop is something that I’ve heard being mentioned once or twice, but I don't know much about it, to be honest. I definitely think it would make life just a lot easier and I’ve only just found out that CGM sensors can be worn on different parts of the body, which may be beneficial for when I’m playing football.
I’m 17 and have been living with type 1 diabetes for 13 years.
I’ve been using an insulin pump to manage my diabetes for around 9 years.
Having access to the pump has been transformative for me in terms of the flexibility it has allowed me with the option to set a temporary basal and avoid crashing after physical activity and it also makes you aware of what your sugars are doing with all the data patterns it provides too.
I have the option to use the Libre sensor – but I quite often don’t wear it because it can fall off when I’m playing football.

Overall, I’ve never had any issues in accessing the technology I need to manage my diabetes and the support given from the clinic has been very positive.
