Whether you are looking to join one of our local groups and have a chat over a cup of tea, read printed leaflets with the latest information or phone our helpline, there are many ways we can support you with your diabetes.
We support people across the South West and South Central region who are affected by diabetes, whether you or someone you know has been recently diagnosed, you have been living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes for a long time, or if you are a healthcare professional.
Here are some of the ways that we can help:
Our local groups
We have different types of groups across our region run by our volunteers:
Adult groups
Our adult groups help support people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Many groups run meetings where you can find out the latest information in a social and friendly environment. Some groups also have a Facebook page where you join an online community to chat and share experiences with others.
Visit our listing of local groups to find your nearest one.
You can also volunteer with our local groups and get involved with a range of activities from fundraising to organising events.
Children and families groups
Being diagnosed and living with diabetes at an early age can feel daunting and confusing. Our children and families groups provide face to face support, organising events where parents and children meet up, have fun and find out the latest information.
Visit our listing of local groups to find your nearest one.
You can also volunteer with our local children's and families' groups. For more information, get in touch with our South West and South Central team at southwest.southcentral@diabetes.org.uk
