Consultant in diabetes and endocrinology, Darent Valley Hospital
Cynthia started as a consultant in December 2016 to improve and transform the delivery of diabetes services in Dartford and to provide effective clinical leadership to develop a short term and long term strategy for expanding and redesigning the diabetes services. She has completed extensive specialist training and has been studying in diabetes research for three years looking at the pathophysiology in the development of Type 2 diabetes in black ethnicity which was a Diabetes UK funded grant in the centre for excellence in diabetes care, King’s college Hospital and KCL, London.
Cynthia’s vision is to develop a diabetes centre of excellence locally taking the mentorship programme developed on other projects as well as guidance from other successful models of care to improve inpatient and foot services, develop better links with the wider local community, taking into account the vanguard development and also wider London community, in particular, relationships with teaching centres.
