Researchers at Liverpool John Moores University would like to recruit people:
• aged 18+
• who are living with type 2 diabetes and a heart condition (such as angina, heart attack or coronary heart disease)
• who speak the English language and can give informed consent to take part in a study.
The researchers aim to work with people who meet the above criteria to co-create a strategy to increase their understanding of how their type 2 diabetes and heart condition/s are connected, and to improve how they're affected by their conditions mentally and emotionally, including reducing unhealthy coping mechanisms, depression and anxiety so they can feel more empowered to manage their conditions effectively.
Taking part will involve attending a co-creation workshop; the researcher will use methodologies, such as brainstorming, to actively engage participants with identifying and designing aspects of the strategy that align with their needs.
Participation will take an hour and participants will be compensated for their time with a £15 voucher.
