Researchers at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust would like to recruit people aged 18 and over, living with type 2 diabetes and have or have had diabetic foot ulcer to to take part in a study. They're testing their new healthcare package MiFoot for preventing heart attacks and strokes and early death.
Taking part will involve an initial clinical visit for basic health checks and questionnaires. You'll then be assigned to either proceed with the treatment and care you're receiving, or test the MiFoot programme. The latter involves group-based education and physical activity sessions over two years, with an online platform designed to support you. You'll be asked to share your experience participating this programme via questionnaires and interviews.
All your travel expenses will be reimbursed and you'll receive £10 for each clinic visit (up to £140 in total). For more information please contact the MiFoot study team (0116 258 4732, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm/mifoot@uhl-tr.nhs.uk).
