Dragon Legends: Piloting an augmented reality card game for Diabetes self-management in young people.

Researchers at Royal Holloway University are recruiting young people aged 11-18 with diabetes to participate in an exciting study involving Dragon Legends - a prototype augmented reality (AR) card game. Dragon Legends, created by Play Well for Life, helps young people build self-management skills while having fun! The game offers a unique way for those with diabetes to engage in immersive gameplay while learning skills to help manage their condition.  By taking part, you’ll contribute to important research that could help improve diabetes care for young people. Plus, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher!

How does it work?

•    You’ll need an Android phone or tablet (the game isn’t currently available on Apple devices).
•    We’ll send you a special card pack.
•    Play Dragon Legends for 45 minutes a day over 14 days with a parent, trusted adult, or friend.
•    You’ll complete brief questionnaires before and after the game to track how it supports your decision-making, communication, and self-management.
