Diabetes UK Research Funding Statement on reduced funding in 2025
Last updated 29 November 2024

Like many in the charity sector, we continue to face ongoing challenges from high inflation and the rising cost of living, which have affected our fundraising income. As a result, we have had to make the difficult decision to reduce investment in new research in 2025. This will impact our Project Grant, Early Career Small Grant and Harry Keen Intermediate Clinical Fellowship schemes.

Please see the relevant funding scheme pages for updated deadlines and details. Despite these challenges, Diabetes UK remains deeply committed to funding new research, which is vital to driving breakthroughs for people living with diabetes. For more information, visit our FAQs.

If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to get in touch research@diabetes.org.uk.
