Diabetes UK Support Groups in Waltham Forest
There are two Diabetes UK support groups in Waltham Forest.
One that operates online only and is for people with all types of diabetes. You can find their web page here and you can join the group's WhatsApp chat by emailing the group lead Martin Garner at martingarnar@mrgarnar.plus.com.
The other group is for anyone living with or caring for someone with type 2 or pre-diabetes. Sessions are held on the second Tuesday of each month, located at the Firs Medical Centre with regular talks from local health professionals and visitors of interest.

- MBS Wellbeing Community Interest Company – Runs health and wellbeing workshops that supports residents aged forty plus.
- Afro Caribbean Elders Association - A social and community group for African Caribbean and African older people.
- Highams Park Food Aid - A local food bank which supports the Chingford and Highams Park community.

Living with Diabetes Day, November 2023
To mark World Diabetes Day 2023, members of the South East Coast and London team were in Waltham Forest to host a ‘Living with Diabetes Day’ awareness event at Leyton Orient Football Club.
Leyton Orient Match Day Takeovers
The team have attended two Leyton Orient matches at Brisbane Road to raise awareness of Diabetes UK’s Know Your Risk tool and what we’ve been up to in the local area.
