Eddie Howarth, Secretary to Anglesey Motorcycle Club explained,
“Members of the Anglesey Motorcycle Club are valued supporters of Diabetes UK Cymru, we are so grateful to them and the many ways they fundraise for us such as the Anglesey Easter Egg Run, Group Ride-Outs, Track Ride-Outs, Trips to Motorcycle Events and other Social Events.
“The cause is very close to a number of our members who are either affected directly or have close family who are affected. It was a pleasure raising the money and we were very pleased to be able to present the cheque to Diabetes UK.”
Corporate Fundraising
Corporate fundraising can take many different forms from one off events, choosing us as your charity of the year or even longer-term partnerships. All can have a fun, positive effect on moral, social responsibility and team building, as well boosting brand awareness and helping meet corporate social responsibility objectives.
Kate Hayhoe, Business Development Executive. Spire Hospital said,
"Last month we announced the elected Charity of the Year is Diabetes UK Cymru. We will be carrying out various fundraising throughout the year in aid of this phenomenal charity. Diabetes UK Cymru is really close to the heart for so many people, this especially the case for Rachel Murray, our administration manager, who's best friend unfortunately lost her 13 year old son to undiagnosed type 1 diabetes. She said: "Beth and I have been best friends for over 30 years and our children were only 4 weeks apart so it is very close to my heart. Her son was diagnosed with a chest infection the day before he went in to Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) and a test at the GP practice could have saved his life." Since then they have been passionate about raising awareness and raising money for the charity.”
Hefin Evans, Wales Young Farmers Cymru, Chairman explains why they have chosen to fundraise for us,
“Diabetes UK Cymru is a charity that is close to my heart with many family members suffering with it. I aim to raise awareness around the disease. The challenge I will be embarking on is the Three Peaks of Wales Challenge, which will hopefully be taking place in August 2023. The challenge will be open for all members, they can join us in doing all the three summits or choose the summit that is closest to them.”
