There are many ways for volunteers, like you, to get involved with our campaigns – even if you don't have a lot of spare time.
Support Diabetes UK's Children's Campaign
Too many children with Type 1 diabetes aren’t getting the proper care they need at school. That’s why Diabetes UK will be helping schools provide the best care possible by producing online and printed tools, resources and videos.
Later in the year, we’ll be introducing a volunteer advocacy service which will offer hands-on support to parents and advice to schools in getting things right.
Right now we need to make sure all schools order their toolkits. We’re getting in touch with them, but we need your help. Join our campaign and in a few weeks’ time we’ll send you a leaflet to deliver to your local school to encourage them to order Diabetes UK’s new resources.
Support our 15 healthcare essentials campaign
Everyone with diabetes is entitled to care planning appointments with their healthcare team as part of their ongoing diabetes care. Care planning is about you and your healthcare professional working together to make sure you get all of the care you need.
Watch our short new video. It tells you all aboutcare planning, and how to make the most of it, to help you manage your diabetes. And once you’re done, why don’t you share it with your friends and family?
Help spread the word about good foot care
How to Spot a Foot Attack is a small information booklet for people with diabetes who are assessed to have increased risk at their annual foot review.
Copies of How to Spot a Foot Attack are being sent to all general practices in England and Northern Ireland in Spring 2014. Order your copy to make sure that GP surgeries are giving it out to people with diabetes. Then, take it into your next appointment with your GP and ask them to make sure they place their order.
