An update from the Brand Team
Over the next few months you’ll start to see a few changes to the way we look, talk and write. This is because we know it is our responsibility to make sure that people understand both the condition and the growing diabetes crisis.
What's changing?
We will be updating our current logo with our new strapline “Know Diabetes. Fight Diabetes.” This strapline is designed to reflect the importance of knowledge in understanding and empowering people to take control of the condition combined with the need to take action and fight, whether that is fighting the stigma caused by misunderstanding, fighting for better understanding or fighting for better care.
The new strapline will be introduced alongside a refreshed look for everything we do.This is to help us stand out from other charities and ensure people recognise materials from Diabetes UK wherever they are - whether that’s in a doctor’s waiting room or at a marathon. Alongside this there will be an update to our tone of voice and personality to help us find a unified way for us to talk about the diabetes crisis.
When will the changes take place?
This won’t be an overnight change, instead we’ll be introducing new materials over time as they run out or as they need updating so it’s all done in the most cost efficient and environmentally friendly way. You’ll start to see the changes from mid-November so please bear with us and don’t think you have to throw everything out now.
If you’re unsure, you can speak to your local volunteering team or contact our Brand team onBrand@diabetes.org.ukwho will be able to help. We will also be producing new guidelines to help everyone work with the new elements from mid-November too.Watch this space for more information.
