Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
By entering the free prize draw to win one Espro Ultralight Press (the “Prize Draw”), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
Promoter
The promoter of the Prize Draw is The British Diabetic Association operating as Diabetes UK (English charity no. 215199 and Scottish charity no. SC039136) Wells Lawrence House, 126 Back Church Lane, London E1 1FH (“Diabetes UK”).
Entry requirements
Participants must be at least 18 years old to enter and legally resident in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland).
Employees or contractors of Diabetes UK and their immediate families and members of households, and anyone else connected in any way with the Prize Draw are not eligible to take part.
- You must be a registered participant of the London Bridges Challenge 2019
- Diabetes UK reserves the right to require any participant to prove that he or she meets the entry requirements in these Terms and Conditions and is eligible to participate in the Prize Draw.
How to Enter
- The Prize Draw will open at 9.00am on 15 October 2019. The Prize Draw will close at 11:59pm on 31 October 2019. After this time no further entries to the Prize Draw will be permitted.
- Entry to the Prize Draw is free. No purchase or donation to Diabetes UK is necessary to enter the Prize Draw.
- This promotion is open to mainland UK residents (excluding Northern Ireland) aged 18 and over.
- To enter the Prize Draw you must follow one of these methods:
- Have £50 donated on to your JustGiving page or;
- Submit your name and address on a stamped addressed envelope and any fundraising equating to the £50 fundraising amount for entry to: London Bridges Challenge, Diabetes UK, Wells Lawrence House, 126 Back Church Lane London E1 1FH to arrive by the closing date.
Diabetes UK accepts no responsibility for entries not received for whatever reason.
- Entries submitted by any other means will not be accepted. Any illegible, incomplete or fraudulent entries will be rejected. Participants may submit one entry per person only.
Prize on Offer
- There are three of the same prize on offer, the Salad Master Espro Ultralight Press’ (valued at £35 each).
- Only one prize can be won per participant in the prize draw
- The prize is non-transferable. Diabetes UK reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equivalent or greater value, or at Diabetes UK’s sole discretion, the cash value of the prize, if this is necessary for reasons beyond Diabetes UK’s reasonable control.
- The prize includes costs to deliver the prize to an address in the UK.
How the winner will be chosen
The winners of the Prize Draw will be drawn at random by computer from all complete, eligible, properly submitted entries received before the closing date and time. The draw will take place within three working days of the closing date.
- The winner will be notified within 10 working days of the draw using the email address provided on the entry form.
- In the event that contact with a winner cannot be made within 15 working days of the draw date or the winner is found not to meet the entry requirements in these Terms and Conditions, Diabetes UK reserves the right to withdraw the prize entitlement and to award the prize to another participant who will be drawn at random by computer.
Publicity and Data Protection
- By entering the Prize Draw, participants agree to have their name, county and photograph featured in reasonable publicity relating to the Prize Draw without further reference, payment or other compensation.
- For 14 days from the closing date of the Prize Draw, details of the winner will be made available to participants and the public on request by sending a letter and stamped addressed envelope to London Bridges Challenge Team, Diabetes UK, Wells Lawrence House, 126 Back Church Lane, London E1 1FH.
- Diabetes UK will collect and process participants’ personal information in order to conduct the Prize Draw and this information will be shared with Diabetes UK’s agents to the extent necessary for the Prize draw to be administered and the prize to be delivered to the winner.
- Participants’ names and other personal details from their entry to the Prize Draw will be collected and stored by Diabetes UK and will be held in accordance with the applicable privacy policy in place from time to time (see https://www.diabetes.org.uk/about_us/legal-information/privacy-policy1).
Liability

- Diabetes UK reserves the right to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Prize Draw in whole or in part, at its sole discretion, if it believes the Prize Draw is not capable of being conducted as specified within these Terms and Conditions or in the event of any other cause that is beyond the reasonable control of Diabetes UK that could affect the normal course of the Prize Draw.
- Neither Diabetes UK nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies are responsible for any losses, failures or delays caused by events beyond its or their control such as (but not limited to) the acts or defaults of any supplier selected by Diabetes UK to provide the prize that may lead to loss or damage of the prize in transit to the winner.
- Save where it has been negligent, Diabetes UK will not be responsible for any damage, loss or injury resulting from participants’ entry into the Prize Draw or their acceptance and/or use of the prize, or for technical or difficulties of any kind that may limit or prohibit their ability to participate in the Prize Draw. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall in any way limit Diabetes UK’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or any other matter where liability may not as a matter of law be limited.
- Any participant who enters or attempts to enter the Prize Draw in a manner, which in Diabetes UK‘s reasonable determination is contrary to these Terms and Conditions or by its nature is unjust to other entrants may be rejected from the Prize Draw at Diabetes UK’s sole discretion. Furthermore, where such actions have significantly impaired the Prize Draw, Diabetes UK may, at its sole discretion, add further stages to the Prize Draw as it deems reasonably necessary in order to resolve any problems arising as a result of such actions.
- All of Diabetes UK’s decisions in relation to the winner of the Prize Draw are final and Diabetes UK will not enter into any correspondence with participants.
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by English Law. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any dispute or claim arising in association with the Prize Draw or these Terms and Conditions.
Free Gift Terms and Conditions
London Bridges Diabetes UK Saladmaster free gifts
1. Diabetes UK is giving away:
1.1. One Saladmaster Electric Kettle to the top fundraising participant of the London Bridges Challenge by 11.59pm on 31 October 2019;
- 1.2. One Saladmaster Food Processor to the second top fundraising participant of the London Bridges Challenge by 11.59pm on 31 October 2019;
- 1.3. One Double Walled Salad Bowl to third top fundraising participant of the London Bridges Challenge by 11.59 on 31 October 2019;
For the remainder of these Terms and Conditions, these are referred to as the “Free Gifts”.
- 2. To qualify for the Free Gifts you must be a registered participant of the London Bridges Challenge 2019 for the Benefit of Diabetes UK, and you must either:
- 2.1. Have a JustGiving fundraising page allocated to the London Bridges Challenge 2019 to raise funds for Diabetes UK and have raised the minimum donation amounts on that page by the relevant deadline date, as specified above; or
- 2.3. have raised the top three donation total of London Bridges Challenge to receive a prize, as specified above, made any cheques payable to ‘Diabetes UK’, and have sent those donation amounts to Diabetes UK at the following address FAO London Bridges Challenge Team, Diabetes UK, Wells Lawrence House, 126 Back Church Lane, London E1 1FH along with your name and postal address, by the relevant deadline date specified above. Please note that the donation amounts must be received by Diabetes UK by the relevant deadline date, in order for you to be eligible to receive a Free Gift.
- 3. If you raise one of the top three donation amounts by the deadline date, we will email you to inform you of your Free Gift and send your Free Gift to the address linked to your JustGiving fundraising page, or the address provided when you send your donations by post. To opt out of receiving your Free Gift you can contact us at londonbridges@diabetes.org.uk.
- 4. To sign-up for the London Bridges Challenge you must complete the online entry form which is available here.
- 5. The promotion will start at 9am on 10 October and will end at 11:59pm on 31 October. Any individuals that participate in the promotion outside of this period will not be eligible to receive any of the Free Gifts. Diabetes UK accepts no responsibility for unsuccessful attempts to participate in this promotion for any reason.
- 6. The Free Gifts are subject to availability. Diabetes UK has a maximum number of Free Gifts (listed below) to give away, once this number of Free Gifts has been distributed, Diabetes UK shall not be obliged to give away any further or alternative gifts even where this maximum is reached prior to the above closing date. The maximum number of Free Gifts are:
- 6.1. 750 Diabetes UK shoelaces;
- 6.2. a maximum of 1 Saladmaster Electric Kettle;
- 6.3. a maximum of 1 Saladmaster Food Processor; and
- 6.4. a maximum of 1 Saladmaster 3.5 Qt Double Walled Salad Bowl.
- 7. The Free Gifts are non-transferable. Diabetes UK reserves the right to substitute the Free Gifts for a gift of equivalent or greater value if such a substitution is necessary for reasons beyond Diabetes UK’s reasonable control.
- 8. This promotion is open to mainland UK residents (excluding Northern Ireland) aged 18 and over.
- 9. Diabetes UK reserves the right to require any participant to prove that he or she meets the requirements to participate in this promotion.

Fundraising Reward Incentives – terms and conditions

There are four rewards on offer for those registered to participate in the London Bridges Challenge 2019 for the benefit of Diabetes UK. Raising:
- 1. £40+ by 11.59pm, 31 August 2019 qualifies you to receive a pair of Diabetes UK branded shoe laces (only available for the first 750 participants who raise this amount);
- 2. £120+ by 11.59pm, 30 September 2019 qualifies you for the ‘125 club’ sew on badge;
- 3. £500+ by 11.59pm, 30 September 2019 qualifies you to receive a ‘500 club’ sew on badge;
- 4. £750+ by 11.59pm, 30 September 2019 qualifies you for a ‘750+ club’ sew on badge.

Free Gift Terms and Conditions
London Bridges Diabetes UK shoelaces and fundraising badges
1. Diabetes UK is giving away:
- 1.1. Diabetes UK branded shoelaces to the first 750 London Bridges Challenge participants to raise £40 by 11.59pm on 31 August 2019;
- 1.2. A Diabetes UK 120 club sew on badge to London Bridges Challenge participants who raise £120 or more by 11.59pm on 30 September 2019;
- 1.3. A Diabetes UK 500 club sew on badge to London Bridges Challenge participants who raise £500 or more by 11.59 on 30 September 2019; and
- 1.4. A Diabetes 750+ club to London Bridges Challenge participants who raise £750 or more by 11.59pm on 30 September 2019.
For the remainder of these Terms and Conditions, these are referred to as the “Free Gifts”.
