National diabetes experience survey: The power of collective voices

It is one of Diabetes UK’s top priorities that more people will live better and more confident lives with their diabetes, free from discrimination and healthcare inequalities.  As such, it has become ever so important that the voices of people living with diabetes are being heard and form the heart of the care they receive. Our colleagues from NHS England will open this symposium presenting the key findings from 2024’s National diabetes experience survey. This will lead into interactive discussion between conference delegates and experts on stage.  The experts will consist of diabetes healthcare professional from a diverse walk of clinical expertise, national leaders, clinical care delivery and research across both primary and secondary care; and people living with diabetes - our very experts in diabetes lived experience.  We will explore and debate topics highlighted by the national survey outcome, how to effectively translate this to day-to-day diabetes care provision and thought provoking discussion about how to have similar population level survey in all four nations, and how best to sustain this.
