We are working with our long-time partner Tesco to help people living with diabetes enjoy their summer as much as possible.
We know that summer days out, holidays and social gatherings can present challenges if you live with diabetes, so we’ve developed some essential tips and advice to make it easier.
We are working with Tesco to support families and people with diabetes over the summer holidays to travel confidently on holiday, eat well and affordably, learn how to deal with fluctuations in blood glucose levels caused by the heat, and much more.
Find affordable summer recipes
Whether you’re heading off on a trip, braving the British weather with a picnic, or firing up the barbecue, we’ve got you covered with some healthy food inspiration.

Snita, who lives with type 2 diabetes, told us about the challenges of eating out during the summer and importance of having recipes to follow.
‘The dietary challenges for me tend to occur when I go out for a meal. At home I’m fine because I only eat the foods that I can eat. But once I’m out, whether its socialising at a party or a wedding, or even over to a friend’s house, that’s when it becomes difficult for me as lots of the foods tend to be processed and high in carbohydrates and sugars which can be difficult to control when you’re away from your home.”
Top tips for travelling with diabetes
Travelling with diabetes means there are a few more things to think about before you set off. And it can be harder to manage your blood sugar levels in the hot weather. But living with diabetes shouldn't be a barrier to taking trips or holidays at home or abroad.
