Our partnership with Tesco, Cancer Research UK and British Heart Foundation has been named as the most admired professional health partnership in a new poll.
The poll, issued by the 2023 C&E Corporate–Non-Profit Partnerships Barometer, asked respondents to identify their most admired corporate-non-profit partnerships.
What is our ‘Helping You to Live Healthier’ partnership?
Our ‘Helping You to Live Healthier’ partnership brings together our skills and expertise, along with those of Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation and Tesco, to help lower the risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
This partnership began in 2018 and has engaged millions of customers and Tesco staff through various health initiatives and fundraising.
Through its influence and reach, over the course of the partnership Tesco has been able to build health insight and trial and evaluate behaviour change activities, giving the partners a strong basis to drive forward their joint work together into the future.
Together, we have delivered health insights and interventions and raised over £25m for all charities, all with the vision of improving the nation’s health.
These include the ‘Let’s Talk’ pharmacy training programme, where the three charities worked together Tesco to help lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Over the last 18 months, this pharmacy e-learning programme has allowed us to deliver specialist training to Tesco pharmacists and pharmacy colleagues to support their conversations with the public.
Reaching millions of people
Simon O’Neill, Director of Care and Clinical Intelligence, Diabetes UK commented:
“We are delighted that our Health Charity Partnership between Tesco, Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK has been recognised as the most admired partnership in 2023.
“Sadly, nearly all of us are affected by heart and circulatory diseases, cancer, or diabetes in some way. Since 2018, our partnership has allowed us to reach millions of Tesco customers and colleagues to inspire them to make healthier choices that lower the risk of these conditions and improve their health.
“We look forward to the future of our partnership, and what more we can achieve by working together.”
