A bright start for our new webinar series, supporting people living with diabetes with practical expert advice.
The London team welcomed more than 50 participants to an online presentation and Q&A in August.
Held by clinical psychologist Dr Yvanna Coopoosamy, The ‘Five Strategies for Feeling Better’ talk was the second in a new monthly series of health talks offered by the London team to people with diabetes in London and beyond.
After listening to the informative talk, participants were able to offer their own suggestions for maintaining good mental health including walking, gardening and knitting.
One particularly well-received suggestion was bread making, with Cynthia - one of our volunteers - stating that bashing dough is a great stress-reliever. She went on to add that there's also delicious bread for you to enjoy at the end of the process!
London Head Roz Rosenblatt said:
“We decided to put on public talks as a way to offer useful and authoritative information to people during lockdown but they will continue as part of the London team’s work well into the future.”
The webinars are now an established monthly fixture with foot-care, nutrition and GP services lined up for the rest of the year. If you are interested in attending one of our sessions or want to know more about upcoming events, please email london@diabetes.org.uk
