The Diabetes UK Omagh Support Group has announced its programme of events for 2018 and would be delighted to welcome new members to join them for their monthly meetings at Omagh Fire Station.
Diabetes UK Northern Ireland Volunteer Development Manager, Heather Causer, said, "We are really excited to announce the Omagh Area Diabetes Support Group programme of activities for 2018. The group will be on hand to offer peer support to people living with diabetes, along with excellent guest speakers and fundraising events. The meetings are informal and relaxed so it is a chance to meet with people in the local community who are also living with diabetes.
"There are over 100,000 people living with diabetes in Northern Ireland so more of us are being affected by this serious, lifelong condition. Our support groups help equip people with information and are open to everyone who is living with diabetes, caring for someone with diabetes or just interested in learning more about the condition."
The first meeting will take place on Wednesday 24 January at 7.30pm in the Omagh Fire Station and there will be a Q&A session with a local Paediatric Nurse, Damien McHugh, and Diabetes Specialist Nurse, Helena McKeever.
