Medical technology company Medtronic has advised that supply chain issues may temporarily disrupt the availability of the Guardian 3 sensor and Guardian 4 sensor.
Supply chain issues affect availability of Medtronic Guardian 3 and Guardian 4 sensors
There may be temporary disruption to the availability of Medtronic's Guardian 3 sensor and Guardian 4 sensor, the medical company has announced. This is due to supply chain shortages caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The sensors are part of Medtronic’s continuous glucose monitoring devices. These devices are used predominantly to help people with type 1 diabetes manage their blood sugar levels
What to do if you use the Guardian 3 sensor or Guardian 4 sensor
Medtronic has let people with diabetes who use the Guardian 3 sensor know that there may be a delay of up to two weeks for their device to be delivered. Guardian 4 sensor users should also expect delays in the coming weeks.
To avoid disruption, Medtronic advises that if you use these sensors, you should make sure you place your next order as soon as you open your last box.
The company expects these supply chain issues to be sorted out in early 2022.
