Many of us have a bit more time on our hands at the moment so this is an ideal opportunity to get creative.
We’ve been inspired by flash graph doodles and thought it would be great to create a digital exhibition of your doodles or any other diabetes inspired artwork. We’d also love to share your artwork celebrating our amazing NHS staff and the key workers looking after us. We’ll showcase them on our Facebook page for now, but hopefully we’ll also be able to show them off at an event later the year.
Not sure what a flash graph doodle is?
Using a screenshot of your Flash or CGM reading, you draw fun pics over the top using your smart phone, tablet or laptop. Or you can just draw your reading and use pens and paper to doodle over the top. We know not everyone uses Flash or CGM and may prefer to use more traditional ways of drawing or painting to create their diabetes related art. We’d love to see them all!
As well as being a fun way to pass the time for any age, this could be a fun art activity as home schooling starts again after Easter.
Angela Mitchell, National Director of Diabetes Scotland, said:
“We’ve seen some great flash doodles on social media and from Diabetes UK volunteers – especially Sarah Ann from the North East of England who has been doing these as a way to cheer up people during lockdown. We’d love to see what our Scottish supporters can come up with!
Art can be a great way to relax and have some fun. What’s more, it’s something you can enjoy at any age. I’d encourage everyone to give it a try and share the results!”
Send your doodles and artwork to us by emailing scotland@diabetes.org.uk or messaging our Facebook page.
